Building Sponsors

Framework will be the first high-rise building in the United States made from wood and the first earthquake resilient building of its-kind in America. Framework also provides 60 units of affordable housing during a housing crisis, in Portland’s most amenity rich neighborhood. Thanks to the following sponsors for making Framework a reality.

Research (R&D) Sponsors

Framework's R&D phase established the safe application, practicality, and sustainability of a high-rise structure (>10 stories) that uses mass timber and innovative building techniques, as well as provided scientific and technical support to encourage and support the design and construction of tall wood projects in the U.S. This phase, primarily funded by the U.S Tall Wood Building Prize, included over 40 tests with groundbreaking seismic, fire, and acoustic tests that will become open source. Thanks to the following organizations for funding these pioneering efforts.
